Murder of Oles Buzina: indictment sent to court

The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has sent a prosecution on suspects Andriy Medvedko and Denis Polischuk on charges of having committed a deliberate murder of Ukrainian journalist Oles Buzina.

On November 28, 2017, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office sent a court indictment on suspects Andriy Medvedko and Denis Polischuk on charges of having committed a deliberate murder of Ukrainian journalist Oles Buzina in Kyiv on April 16, 2015.

The indictment is intended for consideration in essence to the Shevchenkivsky district court of the capital. In addition, victims of civil proceedings filed civil suits against suspects for a total amount of UAH 1.5 million.

As previously reported, in June this year the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office completed the investigation of this resonant crime, after which the materials of the criminal proceedings were provided to the parties for examination.

Actions of suspects qualify under paragraph 12 part 2 of Art. 115 (intentional murder committed by a group of persons after the previous conspiracy) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal storage of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are threatened with 10 to 15 years imprisonment or life imprisonment.
