Kyiv City Council deputies propose creating animal police

Kyiv City Council deputies decided to propose at a plenary meeting on October 5 that the Verkhovna Rada supplement the law on the National Police with a paragraph on the creation of an animal police force, the council's press service has reported.

"It's necessary to create an animal police force in order to protect domestic and homeless animals from cruel treatment and to prevent attacks of aggressive animals on people. I note that the respective decision was prepared in response to an electronic petition that proposed creating a separate service for the protection of animals," the author of the supplement, Kyiv City Council deputy Kostiantyn Yalovy said.

His initiative was supported by 77 deputies.
