Russia nixes Sentsov extradition to Ukraine

This was disclosed by Deputy Minister of Justice for European integration Serhiy Petukhov on his page in "Facebook". He also published a photo of the official response from the Russian Ministry of Justice of October 7. In the official paper the Russian Ministry explains that Oleg Sentsov allegedly acquired Russian citizenship after the annexation of the Crimea, and therefore his extradition to Ukraine as a citizen of the Russian Federation is not possible.

On March 18, 2014 all Ukrainian citizens living in the Crimea, were announced by the occupation authorities citizens of Russia. As you know, Oleg Sentsov renounced the citizenship of the country-aggressor. In August 2015 a Russian court found him guilty of organizing terrorist groups in Crimea and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
