Work on return of Ukrainians illegally imprisoned in Russia continues

President Petro Poroshenko is preparing a strategy to return Ukrainian hostages from Russian prisons.

This was stated by the representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko, while speaking with journalists at the Borispil airport, to which the released Ukrainian captives arrived after the hostages swap was held.

"For this, Russian captives are kept as an additional card, as a serious argument to exchange Russian citizens for our citizens who are kept in Russia," said Iryna Lutsenko.

At the same time, she reminded that there are still 93 Ukrainian hostages who remain on the temporarily occupied territory of the Donbas, and assured that work for their release also continues.
