One serviceman killed in past 24 hours

Russia's hybrid military forces have attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 17 times in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action, the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters has reported.

Over the past day, the invaders violated the cease fire regime 17 times. In response, Ukrainian servicemen suppressed the enemy's firing activity 10 times. As a result of enemy shelling, one serviceman of the ATO forces has been killed.

The situation was tense in the Mariupol sector in Donetsk region in the past 24 hours. Ever since daylight hours, the enemy has repeatedly fired from mortars of various types and infantry weapons on the positions of the ATO forces in Vodiane, Pavlopil and Chermalyk. After dark the enemy fired from 120-mm mortar from near Talakivka.

"In general, the fortified positions of these four settlements were fired on with the use of nearly 100 mines of various types by Russian mercenaries. Avdiyivka and Novotroyitske were fired from mortars of 82 mm caliber and grenade launchers," the press center reported.
