Ukrainian Cabinet to endorse second package of sanctions against Russia on Wednesday - PM

"The expanded sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation by the U.S. government took effect yesterday. Therefore, the Cabinet of ministers is adopting the second expanded package of sanctions today and is passing it to the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council for consideration," Yatseniuk said at a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday. The Cabinet press service said later that it would issue two directives on applying sanctions to 1,124 Russian individuals and 156 legal entities. The Ukrainian government passed the first directive on imposing sanctions against Russia on September 11, 2014. In particular, the sanctions included a ban on entry to Ukraine, on siphoning capital from Ukraine, on involvement in privatization, and on exports of military and dual purpose products to Russia.
