Violence escalation in Donbas contradicts Minsk agreements - OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

Dacic reminded all conflict parties of their responsibility to adhere to the ceasefire and to prevent further casualties among civilians, the OSCE said in a statement posted on its official website on Tuesday. The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) reported a significant growth in ceasefire violations in the late hours of August 10 in regions east and north of Mariupol, especially near the village of Starohnativka. SMM monitors came under fire on August 10 and on Tuesday, the statement said. Four vehicles of the OSCE SMM were burnt down in Donetsk on August 9, Dacic said. Inviolability of SMM property must be fully ensured, he said. "Security and freedom of movement is crucial for the SMM to fulfill its mandate. Once again, I strongly condemn any incidents or actions that hamper the SMM's work," Dacic said.
