"All the states have been sent a note concerning the procedure of entry to Crimea, according to which a visit to the occupied peninsula requires the consent of the Ukrainian side," spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Mariana Betsa, told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday. When asked if the Foreign Ministry has received any such requests from Germany, she said that the information is being verified. The Izvestia newspaper reported on Monday that following the trip of several French parliamentarians to Crimea, German Bundestag MPs from the Left party were considering the possibility of visiting the peninsula. As reported, ten members of the French National Assembly and Senate visited Crimea on July 23-24. On July 30, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) said it had opened a criminal case against the French parliamentarians who visited Crimea on charges of illegal crossing the state borders of Ukraine. On the same day, the Ukrainian Security Service barred the French lawmakers from entering Ukraine within the next three years.
