Ukraine and the EU do not intend to continue to delay the introduction of a free trade zone within the implementation of the Association Agreement, ratified by all EU Member States. The FTA had to start working from October 2014. But then after tripartite consultations, it was decided to postpone the move until 31 December 2015. EU imposed unilateral preferences for export of Ukrainian goods. The Russian side has threatened the country trade embargo if the agreement enters into force.
